The Pieniny Mountains is a very unique mountain range. Many say that they are the most picturesque mountains in Poland. The whole chain is characterised by very rich vegetation and exceptionally splendid rock formations, built mostly of Jurassic limestone. The Pieniny Mountains are very famous for the gorge that cuts throw the mountains with the winding Dunajec River. The Pieniny National Park is the oldest polish national park (created in 1930) and is also the first boarder land national park in Europe (it lays on the Polish/Slovakian border). The best way to admire the mountains is to do one of many tourist trails that are very well prepared for different walkers. You can choose from the options of gentle walks up to long distance ones that very often require more effort and sometimes even some rock climbing. <<More>> |

Tatras are the highest polish mountains (Rysy 2499m.) and also the only alpine style mountains in Poland. They are often called Little Alps, as on a relatively small terrain there are many impressive geological formations, such as after glacier lakes, waterfalls and long, beautiful valleys with clear water mountain streams. If you don't feel like doing advanced climbing, then you can use one of the cable cars that will take you to some of the most beautiful peaks from where you can carry on with your walk. There are about 240 km of marked tourist trails that you can choose from. If you are lucky you can meet mountain gouts, deer and even brown bears in some parts of the mountains. The only disadvantage can be the amount of people that this beautiful place attracts every year :) <<More>> |

The Gorce Mountains aren't as popular as The Tatras or The Pieniny, but with their wildness and still unspoiled nature they are surely a great destination for walkers. Great meadows hidden in the middle of woods are very specific for these mountains. In the springtime covered with crocuses, in summer with variety of blossoming flowers and in the autumn they look like colorfull carpets, covered with red and brownish blueberry bushes. From the viewpoints you can admire beautiful panoramas over the other mountain ranges and The Czorsztynski Lake. Walking in these mountains offers a quiet meeting with nature without crowd of other tourists. The most beautiful parts of the mountains are included in The Gorce National Park. <<More>> |
